MAKE LEARNING FUN.
ππππππππ
πΉWhen teachers use activities that make learning fun and engaging, the children are more willing to participate.
πΉ Having fun while learning also help pupils retain information better because the process is enjoyable and memorable.
πΉ My pupils had an amazing experience three weeks agoππ€.
My colleague had to teach list of building materials going by the focus for the term which is 'Homes and Houses. So, she decided to take us on a stroll round the school compound. The children were excited to be outside away from the classroom for a change ππ. She went on to show the children different building materials we could find outside. We saw granites, sand, rods and even water. Pupils were able to touch and feel and I could tell that they were really having fun as well as learning. She showed them the buildings around the school compound and told them that the building materials were put together to make the buildings standπͺ.
πΉ Incidentally that same week in Literacy, my pupils were learning to make and identify the 'l' sound. I had used pictures and concrete materials of various objects beginning with the sound 'l' to drive home my point in class. The lizard was one of the examples of the objects beginning with the sound 'l'. So being outside on this fateful day, we also decided to go Lizard hunting.π€£π€£π€£. We were lucky to find an Agama Lizard that dayπ€ππππ. I will never forget in a hurry the different expressions I saw on my learners' faces. Some were scared, some were surprised while some started chasing the poor lizardπ€π
At the end of it all, it was a good learning moment for everyone.
