BE KIND TO YOURSELF- STOP PROCRASTINATING

My name is Lilian Obielodan. I am an Early Years Foundation Stage Educator with over 10years of experience in teaching.
I am starting up a series on procrastination.
Why this topic?
Many of us started this year with great hopes and high spirits. A lot of us had our new year resolutions written down, goals to be achieved and beautiful plans were mapped out. But seven months down the year and we still haven't started. Why?
PROCRASTINATION!
So the purpose of this post is not to bore you but to encourage you that it is never too late to start up.
For me, I have had my own share of Procrastination big time! I used to procrastinate at almost everything so I understand the struggle. However, I had a lot of help to improve and though I am not there yet, I am certainly on the right track. So this post is like paying forward to help those passing through the same struggles as I did.
NEVER STOP IMPROVING.

WHAT IS PROCRASTINATION?
Procrastination is putting off doing something until later. This could be a habitual or intentional delay of starting or finishing a task despite knowing it might have negative consequences.
WHY IS PROCRASTINATION BAD?
1. It reduces your capacity to achieve goals.
2. You waste time and opportunities.
3. You will fail in keeping promises
4. When you procrastinate, you add to the work load of others. No one likes having work dumped on them that another employee fails to do. This can set the stage for resentment.
5. It could lead to mental health issues such as depression, anxiety and low self esteem.
6. Things get worse when you procrastinate. Are there other reasons why Procrastination is bad that we can think of? Why not research on them and avoid them.
 TO BE CONTINUED.
